The Magic of Affirmations
It may seem to good to be true, but I assure you affirmations can help you overcome negative thoughts and self talk. When using affirmations consistently, they can be highly effective and that is why I use them with all of my coaching clients.
The proof is in the pudding as they say. There are numerous studies that have revealed that when we recite affirmations, it activates the reward centers in our brain. If you say to yourself "I am worthy" or "I am a money magnet" over and over, you will begin to believe it. The positive statements will light up the same reward centers that respond to other pleasurable experiences, such as eating delicious food or receiving a windfall of money. It fires up your neural pathways and makes changes to those areas of the brain that makes you happy and positive.
Several studies have also confirmed that positive affirmations can decrease stress and increase motivation.
When using affirmations it is important to use definitive statements such as, "I will", "I am" or "I have" instead of "I can", "I should", "I need", etc. Words carry powerful energy, use them wisely.
